Greetings all;
We just got our hands on our newly deployed Altiris 7.6 and I tried to create a filter that I thought logically would work but like most things turned out to be more complicated that I thought.
I need to create a filter to deploy patches that will take a list of users and allow me to target all of their machines by "Primary User." In other words, User1, User2, and User3 all have 2 - 4 machines each. I need a filter that I can give it a list of the 3 user names (from AD, another filter, or a list), apply this filter to a patch policy, and have patches be deployed to the 6 - 12 PC's they are flagged as the "Primary User" on.
I thought I could just create a filter of users and apply that to my policy, but alas, in testing it won't target any computers that way. I've read enough to understand that I should be using the filter query builder to accomplish this and it has to do with using the Inv_AeX_AC_Primary_User field but my query skills are too weak to accomplish this on my own.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
